The Optec® 1000 for School, Athletic, DMV, and Pre-Employment Vision Testing

The Optec® 1000 vision tester is ideal for DMV and pre-employment vision testing, as well as basic patient vision screening and school and athletic physical exams. The Optec® 1000 provides a complete array of vision exams, including acuity, color, muscle balance, and contrast sensitivity tests. The classic Optec® 1000 kit includes the Elementary Test Slide (1000-22) Standard, the Multiple Acuity Slide (1000-23) Standard, Plus and Near Point lenses, Allen test flash card, dust cover, record forms, and instruction manual.

The DMV is responsible for ensuring that drivers on the road are competent and able to drive safely. As part of this goal, the DMV requires vision testing before issuing drivers licenses. The Optec® 1000 is the sole machine used by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to test distance vision in cases where people have difficulty reading the standard eye chart. The Optec® 1000 is also utilized in occupations that use pre-employment vision testing to determine whether a candidate meets certain vision requirements regarding distance vision and/or the ability to discern color. Schools and athletic departments use the Optec® 1000 to perform regular vision testing for students and athletes.

• A peripheral test that analyzes vision on a horizontal plane with flashing lights at 85, 70, and 55 degrees, temporal and nasal.
• Test slides which are manufactured on premium photographic film and sealed between two glass plates for increased durability.
• Compact dimensions requiring no more than two square feet of space (17.5 in. long, 9 in. wide, and 10 in. tall) and weighing less than 15 pounds.
